Maryland
Green Center Application

2014 Recertification

NCEEC Official Website
The Maryland Green Center Certification

MAEOE began the companion to Green Schools, the Green Center (GC) program in 2003. As with Maryland Green Schools, Green Center certification is a way to recognize and honor the facility’s efforts in implementation of environmental education, best management practices and community engagement. The Centers are asked to offer many different supports to encourage the development of Green Schools. Centers are specifically asked to actively educate schools, teachers and parents about the Maryland Green School Program, and to assist schools in fulfilling their requirements of curricular integration, professional development, best management practices implementation and community engagement. There are currently 40 centers, with new ones applying in 2014.
